The idea of this kind of post came out yesterday during work. Talking with my colleague Sandra, she Was telling me that she doesn't understand why her skin became so dry...well,with Our jobs it's quite easy understand why.we need more nourishment that "normal people",we have to drink and hydrate Our body with at least half a litre of water per hour...and sometimes,Specially during summer it's not enough.
So i decided to start from The basic, writing about What is good for Our skin, ingredient per ingredient, step by step. This first step starts from The labels of Our beauty products we already have in our beauty cabinet or beauty case.
I Think it's important to be aware about What we are putting on our Face and on Our body: skin is The most wide organ that we have, and it is special,it's not only a barrier, but also is absorbent.so we need to pay special attention.
The International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients, simply pottedin INCI, is The list of The Ingredients that we are found behind every kind of Cosmetic we are buying. This list is International, which it means that is The same everywhere worldwide,in Italy,in America, or in India.
The first positions are occupied by The Ingredients which are more present in that cream/lotion/butter,synthethic or natural. At The bottom of The list(excluding hair colour),should be only additives, like dyes...should be.
Usually,Ingredients which are present less than 1% are putting casually (could be in order or not).
Another important thing:Ingredients which don't have had manipulated in laboratories, that kind of Ingredients which we can say they're natural, they appear in The list with their only botanic name, which is still in latin (for example, olive oil will be olea aeuropea).

Substances which are ended in -ONE,-THICONE,-SILOXANE,are indicative of silicone, faux emollient substances.most of them are derivatives of petroleum, they seems to give to your skin The sensation of silky, soft skin, but it's not true. These substances occlude your pores, don't allow The active Ingredients of a cream/lotion/butter/whatever to pass through The skin and make their job of nourishment,hydratation...these substances don't allow your skin to breathe. Try to Put a plastic bag around your leg or arm...see how your body is reacting to this sort of prison.

But i don't want to start a huge digression about Our "material world",i would like Just to Let you know that maybe that faboulous creams from l'oreal or clinique or clarins are not so faboulous. But also that companies which are promote themselves as "green" are not so green.
That's why WE,as consumers, have to pay more attention.
When you start to read INCI properly and you start to understand which kind of substances are goin'to Put on your skin, your world Will change.
We, with Our awareness, can make The difference.
Have a nice Day! Anna
